Head Sommelier at Tosca di Angelo, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong

Phenol is currently work as Head Sommelier of Tosca di Angelo in The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, his journey into the wine industry began in 2015 at Le Quinze Vins which sparkled his passion later to work as a sommelier; eventually achieved Advanced Sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and ASI Diploma later on, also represented China as one of the candidate of The Best Sommelier of Asia & Pacific 2022 and also one of the judges of HKIWSEC from 2022 to 2023.

His experience also spanned across numerous styles of fine dining and wine scenes, including Kashiwaya Hong Kong, l’Envol of The St. Regis Hong Kong, as Head Sommelier of andō and also in Black Sheep Restaurants which awarded Special Jury Prize 2023 of Star Wine List for Grand Majestic Sichuan. During his service in Tosca di Angelo also received the recognition as The Best Wine List - HKSAR of China's Wine List of the Year 2023, Best White Wine Pairing of Paring Sensation 2024 and Top 10 Wine Pairing Restaurant Awards & Wine By The Glass Awards 2023-2024 by Wine Luxe.

The China Wine Competition judges are carefully selected by us and include Master Sommeliers, Top Sommeliers, On-Trade Wine Buyers and Wine Directors of China who all serve or buy wine for their business and are involved in developing wine lists.

The mission and philosophy of the China Wine Competition is to award wines that make a great addition to restaurants wine menus and by the glass programs. The judges are top sommeliers and on-trade wine buyers from China who understands the chinese palate.

These judges are here to highlight top wines the Chinese consumers can drink in restaurants, hotels, bars and clubs.
