The story of Cantine Cocoioni begins in the 1930s, when the family acquired the historic farmhouse and its surrounding lands atop a sun-kissed hill in the Chianti Aretino—a place known as Cocoioni. Over the decades, the estate remained true to its calling, gradually dedicating itself to the art of Chianti winemaking.

In 2017, the Cocoioni brand was born from a deliberate choice: to forgo the privilege of the Chianti denomination and instead unveil the full potential of its unique terroir. Defined by a distinct geographical and microclimatic identity, this land was reborn through a niche production of artisanal, high-quality wines, destined to stand among the finest offerings of small, visionary wineries.

The culmination of this journey arrived in 2021 with the debut of Cocoioni’s first label: Muriccioli. A masterpiece from an exceptional vintage (2018 harvest), this wine embodies both power and elegance, showcasing the heights the new brand can achieve. It is not merely an endpoint, but a promising beginning—one deeply rooted in tradition yet reaching boldly into the future. The 2019 and 2020 vintages followed, each carefully bottled to preserve their distinctive character.

Now, with the 2021, 2022, and 2023 vintages quietly maturing in oak barrels, a new label is set to emerge—one that marries Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon in a blend of remarkable finesse.
