Top Chinese Wine Producers to Watch in 2019

China’s wine industry has gained tremendous acknowledgment in recent years. Despite having a non-conducive climate, the country is now the 6th largest wine producer in the world. China wine industry has made its mark and is recognized by western companies in spite of climatic and grape quality issues.

Making good wine is not only about using the latest technologies implemented in the process, but it also requires experiments with both old and new methods of wine-making. Here are some impressive Chinese wine producers that you might like to look at this year.

Bate Lu Wines Ltd.

Changyu Pioneer Wine Company

Changyu Pioneer Wine Company was established in 1892, by Mr. Chang Bishi. The company was the very first winemaking enterprise of China. When the company was founded, there were no quality wine grapes in China. Changyu introduced 124 types of wine grapes from the Western countries. After several difficulties, Western grape vines were successfully cultivated in Yantai. In 2006, the company took the initiative to establish a quality grading system in China. Under this system, specific indicators are fixed that is important for the quality wine, vineyard, wine grapes, winemaking technique, aging in an oak barrel, blending and storage in bottle. After the evaluation, wines are classified into categories such as Master’s Choice Class, Superior Class, Prestige Class, and Selected Class. Chateau Aroma

This winery was established in 2001. This winery has more than 50,000 mu area of cultivated land and 10,000-ton dry red grape original wine workshop. Not only this, but the company has a 2000-ton dry white grape original wine workshop and underground wine cellar that can store up to 3,000 barrels. The company has been listed as national agricultural industrialization leading enterprise since 2004.
