Owner of Cheateau Lafite reveals the name of its vintage from its Chinese Wine Estate

Named ‘Long Dai’ (Domaine de Long Dai), the 2017 vintage from the property, is a blend of the classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Marselan. The vines were planted in 2011 in Qiu Shin Valley, which is located in Shandong, China.

Domaine de Long Dai also includes Syrah, Merlot and Alicante Bouschet.

Long Dai has spent 18 months aging in French Oak barriques, and 2,500 cases have been produced from this inaugural vintage.  Jean-Guillaume Prats, CEO of Lafite says that Long Dai will be distributed in the Chinese Market by PernodRicard China, with whom Lafite has come to a long-term partnership.

Long Dai will be available for sale on the 19th of September this year. However, it’s said that customers will have to wait “until the end of November to receive their precious bottles as the wine will have to rest once in the bottle a little longer to be perfectly ready.”
