Sidewood Estate from Adelaide Hills Wine Region, Australia

A family-owned winery producing elegant, award-winning, cool climate wines in the Adelaide Hills.

Sidewoodstory

In the early 2000s, owners and vignerons Owen and Cassandra Inglis fell in love with the gently sloping corner of the Adelaide Hills that is now Sidewood Estate.
The property near Oakbank had room to keep their horses and, most importantly, A-grade cool-climate vineyards they knew would produce premium wines.
Sidewood was founded in 2004 with a vision to create beautifully balanced, elegant wines with a sense of place. Wines that are delicious on the palate and also reflect the soil, the climate and lifestyle of the Adelaide Hills.

Sidewood Vineyards

Situated in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region, 380m above sea level, our climate is significantly cooler than the more traditional regions in South Australia – on average 4 degrees cooler during the day and 8 degrees at night.

And, of course, this cool climate, the level of rainfall and soil type all impart key attributes and characteristics to the wines. The vineyards and environmental conditions are curated with an unwavering focus on excellence in viticulture. Hand-picking and fruit selection play a vital role to ensure that only the best fruit is grown and used in Sidewood wines. And the 91ha of vineyards are carefully manicured to ensure the fruit flavour profiles are at their peak when harvested.
